A fifth edition
For its fifth edition, Hangars Numériques continues to develop a unique setting for professionals while opening up to the public. After being awarded the support system for dance film programming initiatives in 2020, with the General Directorate for Artistic Creation of the Ministry of Culture, we will continue the international expansion of the festival with artists and we will affirm the research theories underlying the creations. The programming is articulated online and on site, from the island of Reunion. The festival is also the venue for restitution of the annual production residency and co-production carried out by the study and research centre. Specific performances and actions invite us to question the artistic, but also philosophical, underlying issues of the genre.

BIOGRAPHY
I am Alaleh, I make Animations, Illustrations, and Sculptures. After getting my bachelor's degree in Sculpture I wanted to find new ways of expressing my ideas. I was looking for a way to give my characters more freedom to move around and dance. So I started to learn 2D animation, what better way to express abstract and figurative ideas in my head than animating them? Continuing this path I got accepted to a Master's in Animation at St.Joost in the Netherlands. "The Routine" is my graduation project. It's a project that is very close to my heart, combining abstract animation and dance moves of a performer that has no limits and breaks all the walls that are restricting them. My main focus is to create atmospheric sequences that tell the stories of the performers, I want to keep exploring their world and continue exploring new expressions.
I turn stories into plays, Performers move around freely creating small moments. Moments of expression, moments of discovery. Performers shift to the audience, Dancers turn into magicians.
