DANCE OF SPIRITS
DANCING BODIES OF THE INDIAN OCEAN#1
We close this season with an excerpt from the live "Dance of spirits", videodance creation animated live from dancing bodies from the Indian Ocean: Nikita Goïle, Idio Chichava and Soraya Thomas captured as part of a workshop* as well as Miguel Lisette, seized during his restitution of residency in animated dance from Mauritius.
By involving a double digital video device, in real shot and in real time, in the creative process, Marianne Louise Lebon questions the place of the "Spirit" of the dancer placed in a polysemic plastic environment. The exploration of the videographer's own internal sensations (kinesthesia) is the starting point of an animated art, constantly in balance between the memory and the imagination of the danced movement.
The use of digital, blurring the boundaries between dance performance and animated image, makes us witness a new expression of dance.
*"Animated Dance Workshop: dancing bodies of the Indian Ocean #1" designed and animated by the videographer and the animated dance research center of Hangars Numériques: realization of Wednesday November 18, 2020 at Kerveguen de Saint-Pierre, an invitation in as part of the highlight "Indian Ocean Dance#1" organized by Lalanbik - resource center for Indian Ocean choreographic development.
